About the Artist

Artist - Plein Air
I am in my element outside taking in the wonders of the day. At peace and forever amazed at the changing colors and vistas.

"I am driven to create. To explore old and new materials, ancient techniques and meld them with new technologies"

A Tahoe resident for 35 years. I have been driven to create since I can remember. My studio is filled with various tools and materials that I have collected through out my life. For  20 years I ran my own Business, Tuck-n-Tack Upholstery, using fabric as my medium. Then in ’94 I started Inteka. I designed, manufactured, and sold Table Top Designs. My medium of choice being metal and glass.

In 2000 my husband and I started Big Water Studios. Audio and Video Production. I am the video editor with an emphasis on motion graphics. Fully immersed in the computer technology world for a good part of the week I move downstairs to the shop or out by the Lake for at least a morning or two.

I began my journey into watercolor 17 years ago.  While pregnant with my daughter I took my first watercolor class with Jan Foss .  Without any previous ability or training I was able to make a picture of flowers. I was completely hooked.

My schooling has been mainly through the North Tahoe Art Center. I have also taken workshops from Randall Stauss, Howard Reese, Jack Shield, Lien Chen, and Patrick Fanning. I attended Life Drawing with Sara Smith for a year to learn basic drawing skills.   Considering myself a novice in the world of Fine art I try to paint almost every day. My own style is just beginning to emerge. Painting ‘en plein air’ landscapes are my subjects of choice but I’m willing to try anything.
